Responsibilities:


  • Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of commercial matters, including contracts, agreements, and negotiations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, such as sales contracts, service agreements, licensing agreements, and distribution agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Identify potential legal risks and propose effective strategies to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management and other departments, to ensure legal compliance and provide guidance on legal matters.
  • Assist in the resolution of legal disputes and manage litigation cases when necessary.
  • Stay updated on legal developments and industry trends to provide proactive and strategic legal advice to the organization.

Requirements:


  • LLB or equivalent degree from a recognized South African university and active membership in the South African Bar Association.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing as a Commercial Lawyer in South Africa, preferably in a reputable law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Indepth knowledge of South African commercial law, contract law, and relevant regulations.
  • Proven track record in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements in compliance with South African legal requirements. PPA agreement experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to ethics and confidentiality.
