Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of commercial matters, including contracts, agreements, and negotiations.
Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, such as sales contracts, service agreements, licensing agreements, and distribution agreements.
Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Identify potential legal risks and propose effective strategies to mitigate them.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management and other departments, to ensure legal compliance and provide guidance on legal matters.
Assist in the resolution of legal disputes and manage litigation cases when necessary.
Stay updated on legal developments and industry trends to provide proactive and strategic legal advice to the organization.

Requirements:

LLB or equivalent degree from a recognized South African university and active membership in the South African Bar Association.
Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing as a Commercial Lawyer in South Africa, preferably in a reputable law firm or corporate legal department.
Indepth knowledge of South African commercial law, contract law, and relevant regulations.
Proven track record in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements in compliance with South African legal requirements. PPA agreement experience is highly advantageous
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to ethics and confidentiality.
