Key duties and responsibilities:


  • Lead and support an outreach team at various sites across the Cape Metro.
  • Conduct pre and post counselling and assessment of client coping skills.
  • Provide HTS at community level and other outoffacility sites as and when required.
  • Promote & Provide HTS and PrEP to MSM's.
  • Promote and offer index testing at community and facility level.
  • Always comply to HTS Quality assurance requirements.
  • Provide health education and promotion of services tailored for MSM community.
  • Improve access and uptake of HTS and linkage to care for MSM.
  • Support communitybased activities.
  • Assist with frequent HCT and/or health campaigns.
  • Link clients to the appropriate level of care within a particular facility.
  • Followup on linked client's uptake in linked facilities.
  • Provide statistical reports on successful linkage of clients to health care facilities.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with champions in health care facilities.
  • Safely transport, organize outreach teams and equipment for outreach activities in the community.

Any other tasks as agreed with line manager.

Minimum qualifications, experience and skills required:

  • A minimum of Grade 1
  • HIV counselling and testing certificate.
  • At least 2years experience in HIV testing services and providing adherence support.
  • Experience working with networks of MSM's in the Cape Town Metro.
  • Excellent customer service and support skills.
  • Basic supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Valid Driver's license with PrDP.
  • Willing to go for a driver's assessment every 3 years.
  • Must be organised and have time management skills.
  • Innovative and solution driven.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Willing to travel to various communities for outreach as and when required.
  • Willing to work flexible hours as and when required.
