Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Linehaul Controller to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily planning, debriefing drivers, reporting incidents, and ensuring the smooth operation of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with the Linehaul team to plan daily activities
• Verify documentation from drivers and ensure all required paperwork is completed
• Communicate with the Control Centre regarding mechanical or tyre breakdowns and other incidents
• Keep senior management informed of any issues or concerns
• Minimize losses and downtime by addressing identified risks and inefficiencies
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Liaise with drivers and customers to resolve queries and address concerns
• Support operational processes and ensure timely completion of tasks
• Process delivery documents, receipts, and other related paperwork in a timely manner
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate billing and payment processing
• Maintain good relations with clients and colleagues
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping and organization

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification advantageous
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a logistics environment
• Advanced knowledge of external systems and platforms
• Excellent customer interaction and communication skills
• Familiarity with GIT and insurance processes
• Understanding of City Logistics' operational procedures, policies, and processes
• Planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
• Technical knowledge of vehicles and trailers
