Exciting opportunity for an experienced Debtors Controller to join a client within the Shipping Industry. They are based in Umhlanga.

Requirements:

Matric
Bcom or equivalent qualification
Relevant industry experience
Proficient in Ms Excel with Pivot Tables and V-Lookups are essential
Experience working on AFYSYS and Standard Bank systems
Attention to detail
Able to show selfinitiative
Good written and oral communication skills
Good telephone manner
Analytical Skills
Honest
Able to keep information private and confidential
Must work well under pressure and with a team

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate with principals for demurrage waivers
Issue c/notes to COD and credit customers for waivers
Do the principal accounting for credit notes as issued
Ensure complete principal reporting for all demurrage on monthly basis
Escalate slow paying / nonpaying customers for Letter of demand issuance
Reconcile all demurrage control accounts
Ensure principal demurrage system and agency demurrage system are tallied and perform necessary reconciliations for same
Ensure proper accounting for overstay boxes moved to State Warehouse by issuing credit notes to customers and debiting principals for such costs
