FMCG Manufacturing company in Johannesburg is seeking to employ a Lab Manager to join their team


EDIBLE OIL INDUSTRY

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The incumbent will provide assistance to the General Manager in managing the Laboratory.
  • Responsible for Quality Control and Quality Assurance Testing for an Edible Oil Plant that also includes products such as Margarines and Fat spreads, Rice, Soaps and Candles.
  • Support role the Food Safety Team Leader ensuring that Quality Products that meet the Highest Food Safety Standards are produced.
  • Be able to Conduct Root Cause Analysis of Nonconformances that may arise.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Quality Management Systems, Food Safety Management Systems and Laboratory Accreditation.

ATTRIBUTES

  • The incumbent must be a Team leader.
  • Have strong problemsolving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • The ability to interact with customers on Quality and Food Safety matters is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A National Diploma or a bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field with a minimum of 5 years work experience in a Laboratory environment in the Edible oil industry is essential.
  • At least 3 years in a Laboratory Management role with experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance is a must.
  • Experience in simple analytical methods in the Edible Oils, Fats and allied industries will be an advantage in more sophisticated methods such as ICP-Analysis and Gas Chromatography analysis etc.
