Role Summary:

The Registered Nurse will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with hospital standards and policies. This role involves direct and indirect nursing care of patients, assessing, planning, executing, and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient care according to the Scope of Practice, assuming total responsibility for these activities.
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients.
• Attend handover reports at shift commencement.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care.
• Promote patient health and wellbeing.
• Audit health records to ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate control and management of stock, ensuring timely charging and crediting.
• Promote positive public relations with patients, relatives, and visitors.
• Demonstrate flexibility in rotation to other wards when occupancy fluctuates.

Requirements:

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
• Relevant qualification and experience within a specialist area.
• ICU Trained.
• Basic Computer Literacy.
• Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required by accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation.
