    About the job

    You will be part of a fast-growing global service provider within installation and maintenance of wind turbines. Flex Wind with HQ in Denmark is a market leader in LATAM and is growing in the European market. Globally we are more than 500 employees across Denmark, Poland, Brazil, Argentina, and South Africa.

    Your new team

    In South Africa you will join of team of 5 colleagues in South Africa and be part of a global HR community of 15 colleagues, working from our office in Sommerset West. This position is reporting directly to the Chief People Officer and with a dotted reporting line to the Managing Director of the South African entity.

    How you will create an impact

    As a Student Assistant you will become an essential part of our ambitious Global HR department and will dive into the world of data reporting. To start with your focus will be collecting, cleaning and registration of data. Following, you'll play a vital role in analyzing HR data and metrics from various sources, including our HR information system. Your valuable contributions will enable smooth HR operations within the organization.

    Your key day-to-day tasks will include

    Responsibilities: Included, but are not limited to:

    Recruitment

    • The HR Manager oversees the entire recruitment process, ensuring the timely acquisition of skilled technicians with the necessary competencies for projects within the South Africa (the region). Examples of activities:Post job announcements, screen CVs, present short list of CVs to Ops/Tech Manager, Conduct online interviews together with Ops/Tech Manager, check references and criminal records, prepare contracts, send it to the future employees and get it sign, maintain a complete data base of signed documents for all the employees of the company
    • Track recruitment KPIs and suggest improvements, as needed

    Training

    • Organize external GWO or industry specific (OEMs) trainings; book training, organize travel, accommodation and keep the employees informed
    • Maintain the training matrix of the company up to date
    • Maintain a complete data base of training certificates for all employees of the company

    Onboarding

    • Review current onboarding plans and upgrade, if needed, and in coordination with the global processes
    • Organize internal 3-5 days onboarding of new employees, book training, organize travel, accommodation and keep the employees informed
    • Prepare and execute onboarding (Introduction to company, company policies, internal procedures, and regulations, cooperation on site etc.)

    Disciplinary conduct

    • Take appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations and addressing employee grievances (written warnings, hearing, dismissal)
    • Organize and conduct hearings
    • Prepare the hearing documentation and maintain an up-to-date HR record of all the events

    Time management

    • The HR Manager must be capable to perform own tasks diligently and within the time allocated for each activity

    HR Business Partnering

    Actively collaborating with the local organization and the global Flex Wind community identifying employees' talents and and creating career development paths. Including participating in employee assessment processes and succession planning, as well as talent acquisition from outside the organization, assisting in defining and adjusting roles together with the local leadership team in the according to current and future business needs.

    Mobility

    • Do research for visas necessary for different countries where the company might have project, and prepare documentation and apply for visas for the employees working abroad in close collaboration with our Mobility team

    Others

    • Personnel-related administrative tasks, Assist with monthly payroll, managing of the limited duration contract
    • Participate in developing and implementing global initiatives
    • Support the implementation of Flex Wind values and our 10 Leadership Principles and culture
    • Coordinate HR policy / HR procedure reviews with respect to local legislation and global processes
    • (will this not be part of the shared position with finance?) Organize employer branding activities (to support local needs for talents)

    We imagine you have the following competencies

    • Great communication skills both verbally and in writing, with the ability to communicate complex information in a meaningful and motivating way
    • Sound understanding of South African labor law; experience with ensuring all employee documents is compliant, up to date and accessible online
    • We hope that you are a proactive self-starter, always thinking 3 steps ahead and with a willingness to learn and solve problems together with the rest of the team

    Education and experience and other requirements:

    • Degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or equivalent qualification
    • 3 to 5 years' experience as HR Generalist, HR Specialist, HR Senior Consultant role, ideally in the renewable energy industry sector and in a matrix organization
    • Knowledge of learning and development of best HR practices in South Africa
    • Fluent in English and Africans
