    Job Description:

    We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Surveillance IT team. The successful candidate will develop pipelines and frameworks across the application portfolio, supporting Trade surveillance analysts with strategy and decision-making.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Drive the definition, alignment, and execution of the global trade surveillance vision and strategy for Glencore.
    • Produce a global roadmap for Glencore trade surveillance rollout.
    • Oversight of BAU support on behalf of global Compliance.

    Requirements:

    Essential Technical Skills:

    • Strong Python, Pyspark, Synapse, DataBricks or similar.
    • Experience in Azure/Cloud, Azure Data Factory, App services, Azure functions.
    • SQL.
    • Data Pipelines, Big Data, Data architectures.
    • CI/CD and associated tools.
    • Test automation, PyTest.

    Desirable Skills and Experience:

    • Understanding of operations or trading in the commodities context, particularly Oil, Gas, Shipping, and related activities.
    • Jenkins, Octopus, Git.
    • DevOps; Docker.
    • TDD and automation, Specflow, BDD.

    Ideal Candidate:

    • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent.
    • 5-10 years' experience in relevant/similar role.
    • Good communicator, with good interpersonal skills and ability to convey technical issues to all levels.
    • Experience in Agile methodologies and working in SCRUM, KANBAN, or similar.
