Our client is a leading producer and distributor of food products and is based in Montague Gardens, near Cape Town.

They want to appoint a Factory Manager to oversee the production at their plant in Johannesburg to ensure that it happens according to required specifications and quality standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure effective general management of all areas in the main plant and cold store.
  • Manage, motivate and control all the staff working in main plant and cold store area.
  • Ensure attainment and measurement of daily production and operational targets.
  • Set and plan production goals and communicate it to key personnel.
  • Plan, document and measure the daily production output of all production lines and sections in the main plant and cold store area.
  • Organize, co-ordinate and control the daily production activities in the main plant area and cold store.
  • Plan daily production with all section managers taking into account worker capacity.
  • Manage, maintain and enforce food safety procedures and requirements.
  • Monitor, maintain and ensure that all personnel abide by specific conditions of employment and to all company rules, regulations, procedures and policies.
  • Ensure, manage and enforce good hygiene practices and housekeeping of all the areas in the plant, cold store included.
  • Manage, maintain and enforce quality standards, policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Implement financial controls to ensure costs are kept within the allotted budget.
  • Oversee and manage effective stock control over raw materials and consumables.
  • Responsible to oversee quality control, food and health safety management.

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • A minimum of matric/grade 12.
  • A tertiary qualification in production management or a relevant certificate, diploma or degree.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a factory management position in the foods and beverages industries.
  • A minimum previous experience of 2 years in a Warehouse Environment.
  • Must be able to read, speak and understand Afrikaans and English.
  • The ideal person should have operational agility.
  • Own transport and a valid drivers' license.

Salary:
R45, R50,000.00 per month

  • Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • Certificate (required)

Experience:

- factory management in the foods and beverages industries: 2 years (required)
- warehouse management: 2 years (required)


Language:


  • Afrikaans and English (required)
