Responsibilities

  • Completion of payroll accounting tasks for the NSC, IT hub and financial services.
  • Managing the bank file salary payment release function to the bank as well as setting up of temporary bank limits in specific months where required.
  • Complete reconciliations of reports and accounts prior to payment.
  • Monthly review and facilitation of payments to payroll third parties (medical aid. Pension fund, other payroll third parties)
  • Sundry expense claim process stands in.
  • Prepare and submit monthly travel deductions for payroll input.
  • Reconciliation of employee fleet loan, travel advances,
  • Expat house deposits and Sanral recovery GL accounts
  • Acting and steering the business to resolve the processing of aged items through payroll in the 3month period, to prevent huge write offs.
  • Steering Payroll, Fleet and controlling areas to ensure process is amended to ensure debts are minimized.
  • Role requires a strong, well versed and process orientation individual to have healthy discussions with Fleet and HR managers in terms of taking write offs caused by their cost centers and find solutions that work for all areas objectives.
  • Reconciliation of Employee benefit trust (EBT) accounts and is main contact person for EBT trustees and accountant therefore responsible for submitting monthly and quarterly information the EBT stakeholders request.
  • Investigating, obtaining support, and clearing of the payroll bank clearing account, the risk of this task not being completed correctly will result in discrepancies between the processed payroll by HR Services and the actual payment from the bank account.
  • Checking outstanding amounts from associates, prior to signing off all payment release forms for terminated associates by reviewing employee payroll loan and advance accounts.
  • Reconciliation of travel vendor, and ensuring all invoicing is correct, with supplier management in relation to billing and corrections.
  • Payroll and travel related projects.
  • Concur JIRAs and administration clearing topics.
  • ISO 9001 preparation documentation and readiness for payroll accounting function
  • Inter control process mapping for payroll accounting function.
  • Ensuring support attached for all journals on the journal tool in relation to payroll account postings.
  • Completion of payroll accounting month end
  • Completion of payment schedules to third parties to Pension, Medical aid etc, timely per required deadlines.
  • Leadership role with respect to the centralization of accruals project for Finance.
  • Analysis of other accounting processes that are required to mitigate internal audit findings in the corporate area.
  • Completion of ISO 9001 requirements w.r.t to travel, treasury and accruals/ accounting postings.
  • Prepare, plan and chair meetings.
  • Process mapping
  • Analyse complex processes and topic and simplify and make understandable.
  • Excellent presentation skills with respect to getting messages across to board members (senior management), PowerPoint and presentation style.
  • High Quality output
  • Project management to ensure timely delivery
  • Opened minded, challenge status quo in positive way attitude.
  • SAP Concur knowledge a must.
  • SAP GL knowledge a must
