Role purpose:


To perform business analysis by assessing user requirements in terms of feasibility, impact and cost, thereby compiling accurate documents and ensuring stakeholder approval.

Forging strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across the division and associated business teams, which enable the implementation of Data governance controls across the various business and technology domains.

Identifying quality issues regarding data and making recommendations on how to correct.


Your responsibilities will include:


To perform business analysis by working with the business to complete Data Governance domain templates or working with technology to compile accurate URS / FDS documents and ensuring stakeholder approval.

Supporting the Data Owners and Stewards in identifying and defining the core business domains and attributes, including glossary.
To provide technical input into the system definition and design document.
To investigate current industry trends and standards in terms of technologies deployed and incorporate this into the business requirements.

To ensure that all relevant test cases for a specific software release are completed in accordance with the defined rollout plan in terms of timing.

To act as technical liaison between the business users and developers.

To foster relationships with the users by having regular formal user sessions and ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are informed of technical developments.

To fulfil the role of technical liaison between the business users and the developers, ensuring that both parties understand the technical and business impact of changes.

To ensure that all project documents are completed in terms of the documented DDM process, and approved by all relevent parties.

To ensure that all relevant documents are readily available and complete.
To maintain industry best practices within the Applications environment.
To ensure that all configured business processes are documented and maintained.
To manage the end-to-end delivery of projects / Data Governance assessments according to agreed processes and methodologies.
Facilitate JAD and information gathering sessions
Design process documents of the data flows and associated business processes.


Technical / professional qualifications:

Matric or equivalent (essential)
3 year diploma/degree, (IT / Business / engineering) (essential)
Abinitio Express IT for Data Quality and Business processes (essential)
Strong process design skills in a process design tool (essential)
Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) (desirable)
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) (desirable)


Job experience:

  • 5 years Business Analysis experience (essential)
2-3 years Data Governance experience (desirable- 3 years testing experience (desirable)

  • 3 years Project Management experience (desirable)
At least 2 years telecommunications industry experience (desirable)
