CGS Shopfitters | South Africa | Full-time
CGS Shopfitters is looking for a
high-calibre Human Resources Manager
who can operate as a true business partner, someone who can build strong people systems, protect the company legally, and help drive a high-performance culture in a fast-moving manufacturing/construction environment. You'll be supporting a
staff complement of ±100 employees and growing
.
What you'll own
- HR strategy & workforce planning:
Align people strategy to business goals, succession planning, culture, and HR budgeting. - Talent acquisition & onboarding:
Run end-to-end recruitment, tighten job specs, raise hiring standards, and create onboarding that works. - Employee relations:
Confidently handle grievances, disputes, and day-to-day people challenges with fairness and backbone. - Labour law & compliance (SA):
Ensure policies, procedures, and practices comply with
LRA, BCEA, EEA, Skills Development Act
, and manage submissions (EE / WSP-ATR). - Discipline & CCMA:
Run disciplinary processes properly, coach managers through them, and represent the company at
CCMA
when needed. - Performance & development:
Build/upgrade performance management, training plans, mentoring/coaching, and management soft-skill capability. - Payroll & HR admin oversight:
Ensure payroll governance, overtime controls, benefits admin, and statutory compliance (
PAYE, UIF, SDL
). - Health & safety support:
Partner with operations to reinforce OHSA-aligned people processes and manage IOD administration.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a
senior/standalone HR Manager
(or equivalent) in a demanding, operational business (construction/manufacturing/industrial is a plus) - Strong
South African labour law
capability (you know how to apply it, not just quote it) - Comfortable setting standards, holding lines, and coaching leaders—without politics or ego
- Excellent writing ability (policies, procedures, codes, handbooks) and clean admin discipline
- High integrity, confidentiality, and strong stakeholder management
