Main Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Administer and file employee/payroll records.
- Maintain and file time and attendance records.
- Post changes in pay and tax status and miscellaneous changes.
- Capture all time and attendance and personnel transactions such as new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, benefits deductions, garnishee orders, etc.
- Print and distribute pay slips.
- Check the payrolls for any inconsistencies
- Employee onboarding and termination
- Employee remuneration query resolution
- Salary and Wage transfers, recall and refund control
- Leave payment administration
- Processing payroll on VIP Payroll Premier (Weekly wages & Monthly salaries)
- Processing payroll manually, if/when required
- Third party payments prepare and balance third party payment
- Completion and submission of WCA, PAYE, UIF, etc. Registrations
- Bargaining Council returns and submissions
- Completion and submission of WCA returns
- Completion and submission of UIF returns
- Completion and submission of EMP201 & Bi-Annual EMP501
- PAYE Reconciliation and issuing of IRP5'S on Easy file
- Application for Tax Directives
- Liaising with SARS, UIF, WCA, Bargaining Councils, VIP Payroll
- HR administration
- HR Induction & Info sessions with employees
- Assist employees with HR and payroll related queries
- Recruitment & selection if required
- Print the various important reports from VIP Payroll
- Recruitment reporting
- Draw up Letters of employment and contracts
- Assist with training and development reporting
- Maintain proper records of all BBEEE related information for annual verification
Requirements:
- Tertiary Qualification in Finance, Accounting and/or Human Resources Management
- Trained on SARS efiling and on Payroll Management
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Payroll/HR Department, preferably in a similar environment.
- Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders and suppliers
- Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problemsolving abilities
- Able to process personal, sensitive and confidential information
- Able to manage time effectively, priorities tasks and achieve set targets
- Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the production, manufacture and customer order fulfilment
- Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good understanding of shift patterns, hours and allowances associated with manufacturing operations.
