    Description

    VUKA Group is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead the operational delivery of medium-to-large-scale events across Africa. This role offers a unique opportunity for a skilled event professional to make a lasting impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Event Operations & Delivery: Oversee all aspects of event planning, from conception to execution, across multiple portfolios.
    • Budget & Forecasting: Manage event budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and financial tracking.
    • Supplier & Venue Management: Source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring seamless event execution.
    • Team Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, production, and finance teams to align on event goals.
    • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all events meet safety regulations, compiling risk assessments and health & safety documentation.
    • Exhibitor & Sponsorship Fulfillment: Ensure the successful delivery of exhibitor and sponsor commitments, including branding and digital components.
    • Technology & Digital Events: Support virtual event setup, event app management, and meeting scheduling.
    • Floor Plans & Signage: Oversee the design and execution of event floor plans, signage, and show guides.
    • Onsite & Post-Event Management: Provide on-the-ground support and conduct post-show evaluations for future improvements.

    People Management

    • Manage and Mentor Junior Operations Team Members: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
    • Provide Leadership, Coaching, and Performance Evaluations: Guide junior team members towards excellence.

    This role requires a proven track record in international conference and exhibition operations, strong budgeting and forecasting skills, and excellent communication and organizational abilities.
