Essential functions
- Driving the implementation of an appropriate and costeffective procurement sourcing strategy within the governance and compliance framework of the business with the aim of reducing cost and complexity and improving procurement service levels and efficiency
- Accountable for supplier evaluations
- Evaluation of the supplier to see if collaboration is possible
- Analysing the price proposals of suppliers and the financial reports of the company, before negotiating the best price
- Negotiation of various contracts and monitoring supplier contracts for compliance with supplier terms and conditions
- Making recommendations on required adjustments to existing contracts in the best interests of the companies under management
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve escalated issues and ensure the endtoend effectiveness of the procurement function
- Maintaining relationships with business and suppliers through active engagement and structured feedback processes in order to maximize business value through alignment of expectations
- Translating commercial strategy into department delivery activities and project plans to ensure execution
- Overseeing procurement activities for the function ensuring a consistent and standardized approach to execution of purchases (including selection), management of suppliers and maintenance of vendor related master data
- Ensuring the consistency of procurement processes across the business by ensuring that welldefined processes are communicated and understood across the business, and monitoring process compliance
- Maintain and improve document management system in respective area (ensure centrally stored and accessible by relevant parties )
- Performing additional work outputs related to the role
- Specific focus on project procurement management:
- Ensuring all procurement is done in-line with operational budget; project -budget; plan and cash flow forecasting
- Working capital planning in line with project cash flow cash flow forecasting and analysis specific to underlying projects; taking into account leadtimes of purchases; availability of stock etc.
- Management of procurement and project administration personnel
- Upskilling the procurement and project administration personnel on project procurement; budgets and cash flow
Experience required
- In depth knowledge and understanding of supply chain best practice
- Supplier and Contract management and Risk Management
- Working knowledge of auditing and accounting principles.
- A high level of commercial acumen
