A logistics company is seeking seasonal staff (from 15 September 2023 until 15 March 2024) on a fix term contract, for the following position, to join our team at Cape Town International Airport.

Renumeration will be market related according to experience:

• CARGO OPERATIONS CONTROLLER

As a CARGO OPERATIONS CONTROLLER, you will be receiving/releasing cargo, organize warehouse and storage facilities, arrange warehouse handling equipment and load/unload air cargo.

You will maintain the required safety and quality standards as well as comply with Standard Operating
Procedures (SOP) and company policies.


RESPONSIBILITIES
- :
Loading and unloading air cargo onto/from vehicles and storage areas
:
Preparing and palletize cargo as needed:
Ensuring paperwork related to cargo is prepared timeously and accurately:
Following Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations:
Driving and/or operate specialist equipment which may include forklift trucks and cargo dollies/trailers:
Complying with all relevant legislation and airport authority, as well as carrier security requirements:
Any other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- :
Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English:
In possession of valid drivers' licence and forklift licence:
Previous experience working in an aviation environment desirable:
Must be able to work flexible hours:
Ability to travel to the airport at times where public transport is not available:
Willingness to work in inclement weather:
Able to work in a manual environment and repeatedly lift to 32kg throughout a shift:
Must work as a team in a fast-paced environment
