What are we looking for?
We're seeking a dynamic
Internal Sales Manager
to lead our internal sales operations and drive efficiency across customer service, stock management, and logistics. This is a leadership role where you'll oversee the internal sales team, ensure smooth order processing, and maintain strong relationships with customers and warehouse partners.

What do we expect from the candidate?
You'll manage stock control, assist with pricing, troubleshoot in our accounting system, and coordinate deliveries nationally. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Experience in internal sales, team support, and knowledge of logistics or stock management will set you up for success.

The Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the internal sales team.
  • Resolve conflicts and handle HR-related matters within the department.
  • Ensure clear communication, collaboration, and accountability across the team.
  • Drive a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and customer focus.

Customer & Sales Operations

  • Oversee customer order processing, enquiries, complaints, and special instructions.
  • Ensure timely communication with customers regarding deliveries, shortages, and overdue accounts.
  • Authorize manual delivery notes, credit notes, and accounts in arrears.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure service excellence.

Stock & Pricing Oversight

  • Monitor and manage stock levels daily, including consignment, reserve, contract, and forward/back orders.
  • Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead stock take processes and troubleshooting analysis.
  • Approve pricing strategies, discounts, and deviations from monthly price lists in consultation with senior management.

Systems & Reporting

  • Oversee use of the accounting system for all transactions and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate processing of invoices, delivery notes, quotations, and stock movements.
  • Generate and review valuation, movement, and sales reports to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with traceability requirements (batch numbers, expiry dates, FIFO).

Logistics & National Coordination

  • Plan and execute national logistics, including IBTs and long-haul deliveries.
  • Negotiate rates with transport providers and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and outsourced service providers for inbound/outbound deliveries.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to ISO, SHEQ, Food Safety, OHS Act, BCEA, LRA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Oversee document control, reconciliation, and filing processes.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, raising CARs where necessary.

Must-Have

  • Matric/Grade 12.
  • Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain or related field.
  • 3+ years in internal sales, customer service or logistics
  • 2-3 years in supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in internal sales and team management and driving sales operations.
  • Strong knowledge of stock control, logistics, and accounting systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and ensure accuracy.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and food industry regulations.
