    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Blood Drive Coordinator to join our team in Potchefstroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing blood drives and ensuring that quality safe blood and blood products are collected according to specific targets.

    Main Responsibilities

    1. Cost Management: Manage cost per unit for whole blood and specialized collections within agreed targets by determining, packing, and loading consumables.
    2. Equipment Maintenance: Validate and maintain equipment to ensure timely repairs.
    3. Reporting: Report increases or decreases in consumable usage and discrepancies in stock deliveries to the Clinic Supervisor.
    4. Stakeholder Relations: Manage stakeholder relations at blood drives and donor centers.
    5. Donor Support: Welcome donors, assist with registration, and provide education on high-risk behavior.
    6. Documentation: Complete donor documentation and assessment procedures efficiently and effectively.
    7. Treatment of Emergencies: Initiate treatment in emergencies, including first aid and CPR.

    Requirements

    • Education: Diploma/Degree in General Nursing Sciences.
    • Driver's License: Code B or EB manual driver's license.
    • Experience: 2 years registered professional nursing experience.
    • Knowledge: Relevant SANBS policies and procedures, Standards of Practice for Blood Transfusion in SA.
