    Description

    Pastries Cook/Baker Role

    Assist the Head Baker in creating and executing a variety of baked goods, desserts, and breads for all dining outlets on board the ship.

    Maintain a high level of quality in all items prepared, adhering to company recipes and guidelines.

    Ensure a clean and organized workspace, following strict sanitation and safety regulations.

    Manage inventory and order ingredients and supplies while assisting in training and supervising junior pastry cooks and bakers.

    Collaborate with other departments, such as main kitchen and restaurant teams, to achieve smooth and efficient operations.

    Participate in menu planning and development, introducing new and creative ideas.

    Maintain a positive attitude at all times, representing the company professionally to guests and crew members.


    Requirements:

    • Minimum 2 years of experience as Pastry Cook or Baker in a high-volume, upscale environment.
    • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution (preferred).
    • Strong knowledge of pastry and bakery techniques.
    • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and demands.
    • Fluent English speaker and writer.
    • Valid Food Handler's Certificate or equivalent.
    • Previous experience working on a cruise ship is an asset but not required.
