PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

Oversee implementation of HIV/TB strategy for children & adolescents years)

Ensure that activities that support for children & adolescents are included in the annual Clientswork plan as well as the District DIP for


Support Implementation of high yield strategies to improve case finding, linkage to care and support enhanced adherence to ART and viral suppression for children, adolescents and caregivers living with HIV in supported sub-districts and facilities.

Conduct monthly and quarterly data analysis and review of programme performance against targets/programme outputs.

Work with district lead and Cluster or Sub-district technical teams to develop Quality Improvement plans for poor performance areas.

Support the development & implementation of package of care interventions for adolescents at health facility level.

Support the implementation of Family Care Days across the district and AYFS programme at the Clientssupport sites.

HEALTH SYSTEM STRENGTHENING & PROGRAMME QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

Support the ClientsClinical advisors, AYP, VTP technical team and Cluster management and technical team.

Conduct joint stakeholder engagement activities to ensure that agreed upon activities are successfully implemented in facilities.


Identify risks to successful implementation of activities, address it with relevant teams and ensure measures are put in place to mitigate the risk.


Use performance to guide support activities for the ClientsClinical advisors, AYP, VTP technical team and Cluster management and technical team.

Provide technical support in line with monthly data analysis of individual facilities.


Facilitate the analysis of the VL completion and suppression using the NHLS VL RfA and other available data systems to identify the gaps and challenges and u assist with the planning and implementation of QI plans to address the gaps.


Liaise closely with hospital paediatric units to ensure care of children and adolescents is well aligned to guidelines and that additional psychosocial support of children is provided.

Provide technical assistance to Psychosocial lead and/or teams and Orphan and Vulnerable Children, Adolescents and Youth Organizations.

Co-ordinate USAID visits and other donor and/or the Clientsmanagement visits together with sub-district managers.

Team Management, coaching and supervision

Provide clinical training and mentorship on specific topics and oversee implementation of such activities by Clinicians.

Capacitate the Clientsstaff with relevant skills to conduct paediatric HIV support activities.

Be familiar with the ClientsHR and recruitment policies and work with HR on recruitment in line with such policies.

Identify training needs and opportunities for programme staff and arrange for such trainings.

Ensure that staff performance Contracts are linked to the strategic plan of the organization and execute performance reviews.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & REPORTING

Work closely/collaborate with the ClientsPaediatric and Adolescent Programme Specialist at the Clientshead office.


Liaise with relevant managers of the Department of Health to ensure maximum buy-in and partnership, including engagement at a sub-district level.


Work closely with other partners supporting Paeds & Adolescent programmes within the district to share best practices and align activities.

Establish, manage and maintain working relationships with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of DoH & the Clientswork plan.

Be actively involved in Cluster programme planning, review and other meetings to provide TA to DOH at various levels.

Attend monthly & adhoc meetings with supported by district, Cluster and SD.

Compile monthly /quarterly report to line manager, funders and DOH as required.

Contribute to work plan implementation and development.

Provide feedback on programme developments as agreed with the line manager.

Support and engage in relevant research processes, mainly operational research.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

MBChB degree

Valid HPCSA registration as Independent Practitioner

Minimum 2 years' post community service clinical experience

HIV Management training essential

Experience in training an advantage.

Experience in engaging with children and caregivers around disclosure in children.

Experience with management of (donor) public health programmes, an advantage

Quality Improvement and project management skills, an advantage

Knowledge of strategy and other Health related policies
