    Introduction

    Applications are invited for the position of Applications Developer (Grade 8) based at Bruma. The successful applicants will be reporting to the Senior Manager: Applications.

    Major Activities

    1. Interact with users to understand their documented requirements.
    2. Analyse the user requirements and translate them into system design artefacts.
    3. Document target system design into system functional specifications that include both functional user requirements and non-functional system requirements such as system stability, security metrics, and system performance.
    4. Document and update software models and data schemas in configuration databases and media libraries whenever new systems are designed and deployed.
    5. Facilitate sessions with stakeholders and ensure system specifications are signed off.
    6. Resolve complex technical design issues.
    7. Design successful business systems integration according to defined application strategies and architectures.
    8. Develop application logic using algorithms and flowcharts.
    9. Produce clean and efficient code based on specifications.
    10. Integrate software components and third-party systems.
    11. Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and bugs.
    12. Develop and build system packages in preparation for deployment to various environments.
    13. Deploy software to integration platforms, test environments, and production environments in accordance with the software development lifecycle.
    14. Develop unit test plans and test cases.
    15. Sign off unit and integration test plans.
    16. Liaise with end-users during functional testing of the software.
    17. Provide support on all business systems, including escalations.
    18. Diagnose, resolve, document, and escalate business system incidents.
    19. Meet service level agreements with IT users regarding business systems.
    20. Train users on new systems.
    21. Comply with the change and configuration management process by completing change requests and submitting them for approval before deploying software.
    22. Update digital media libraries with new system changes and ensure software versions and release numbers are accurate.

    Minimum Qualifications

    1. Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) or any Information Technology three-year tertiary qualification with software programming and database management as course modules.
    2. Microsoft Certified Associate (MCSD) qualification certificate.
    3. Microsoft Power Platforms knowledge is an advantage.
    4. A minimum of five to seven years as an applications developer and system administrator.
