An exceptional External Sales Representative is required for an aluminium window and door hardware supplier based in Silverton -Pretoria. This self-starter will work within the sales team, working closely with the warehouse and operations team. Reporting to the Internal Sales Team Leader.


Minimum Requirements:

Matric
Own vehicle with valid driver's license is essential
Degree / Diploma in marketing / Sales or Business Management
Technically minded -Technical background would be beneficial
2-3 years solid experience in External Sales
Good business acumen
Relationship builder
Eloquence, resilience, persistence
Great attitude
A hunter mentality and self-starter who takes the initiative
A natural ability to grasp technical information is a must
A deep understanding of the Gauteng Market
Target and Outcomes driven.
A relationship-builder and team participator
Ability to maintain key accounts and customers' requirements
Regular visits to customers to build long term customer relationships for sustainable market development and sales growth
Attending weekly sales meetings

Duties and Responsibilities:


Ensure that business objectives are achieved and aligned with Company Strategy through successful selling of the company's hardware range to customers, in a role of servicing existing customers and maintenance role.

With specific KPI's under the guidance and supervision of the National Sales Manager, the person will aim to increase our current level of sales in the Gauteng region and ensure that clients are regularly visited and that they experience excellent Company customer service.

Identifying new business opportunities in the Gauteng aluminum window and door hardware sector, with a primary focus of maintaining existing clientele.

Travel will comprise of 95% of the job, therefore own vehicle is essential.
The Sales Rep is responsible for ensuring the operational objectives and accounts are achieved in full and on time.

This is achieved through effective management of the sales rep's region and ensuring they deliver Financial Objectives both in Gross Sales, Gross Profit and Costs.

Ongoing training and development is a key focus of the role.

Call cycles as agreed to be followed - unless discussed with line manager - these must be updated on a monthly basis.

Sales meetings to be attended when called for.
Greet customer staff and key decision makers on entry.
Ascertain outstanding deliveries.
Discuss promotional lines and new lines with buyer / line manager.
Follow up on orders and stock issues - advise concerned parties.
Deliveries to clients should only be done by exception.
Managing the customer as a key stakeholder, optimizing value for the customer.
Building meaningful relationships with all key stakeholders into partnerships.
To carry out other duties and tasks as directed by the Regional Sales Manager.
Provide feedback on Account performance issues and opportunity gaps to Regional Sales Manager.
Maintain close contact and good relations with head office.
Recommends, develops, and implements short-term corrective action relating to pricing.
Implementation of trade plans as set out by the company.
To monitor distribution of all products and recommend ranging opportunities to Regional Sales Manager within accounts.
To maintain a spreadsheet which tracks sales targets and take remedial action to correct any short falls on non-achievement.
Compile weekly customer feedback

Planning & Monitoring:


To develop, execute and monitor progress against a strategically aligned Sales Plan including effective use of multiple sources of data/information, accurately forecasting, anticipating contingencies, and taking necessary yet calculated risks.

To integrate and optimise commercial targets bringing into alignment, Customer Plans, and other plans relevant to the successful execution of own plan.
