Description

  • The main purpose of this position is to plan and implement lean management principles and solutions across the Supply Chain Management Division in the Currency Management Department (CMD) to improve efficiencies, productivity and reduce costs.
  • Detailed Description
  • Review and analyse the cash supply chain performance metric standards, processes, procedures, technologies, systems and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvements.
  • Conduct timeinmotion studies to support productivity improvements ( i.e. value stream mapping).
  • Design and recommend solutions that will improve the efficiency of the supply chain operations through frameworks and best practices.
  • Customise industry lean principles and methodologies (Six Sigma) and manage the implementation thereof in the cash supply chain.
  • Serve as a technical expert in Six Sigma problemsolving tools ( i.e. DMAIC, Kaizen, 5S pillars, 5 Whys,); 5 Whys problemsolving technique; and the use of the causeandeffect diagram (i.e. Fishbone and 5 Whys) and coordinate their implementation.
  • Extract production data and identify waste and contributing factors for process improvements.
  • Maintain and update visualisation tools to track performance metrics ( i.e. executive reports and dashboards).
  • Coordinate continuous improvement and problemsolving projects.
  • Design and deliver inhouse training tools and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Job Requirements
a bachelor's degree (NQF 7) in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Lean Supply Chain Management SCM or an equivalent qualification;

  • Black Belt certification in Six Sigma ; and
  • 68 years' experience in innovating supply chain operations.

supply chain management systems and methodologies;
