    Job Description

    The role of the Traffic Management Centre (TMC) Operations Manager is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the TMC, ensuring that key performance indicators (KPIs) are met and improved upon.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Application of Incident Management Systems and processes to reduce travel times and minimize occurrence and improve TMC responses.
    • Management and review of TMC work for various staff members, including scheduling, performance management, and training.
    • Scheduling, activities, and personnel conduct within the TMC floor.
    • Encouraging teamwork and development of staff professional skills set.
    • Ensuring compliance with SOP's and managing updates as necessary.
    • Participation in monthly Post Incident Assessments (PIAs).
    • Preparing and Issuing of Video Footage.
    • Preparing and Development of Event Plans and ensuring they are activated correctly.
    • Presentation of TMC, Tolcon, and FMS in the absence of the TMC Operations Manager.
    • Coordination of daily, weekly, and monthly TMC Operations.
    • Participation in TMC Staff recruitment process.
    • Ensuring alignment of TMC Operations with Maintenance KPIs requirements.
    • Ensure adherence to timelines.

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 qualification.
    • 10 years' experience in Incident Management Systems or Road Traffic-related fields.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Intermediate computer literacy skills (MS Office).
    • Working knowledge of Road Incident Management Systems advantageous.
    • Management experience within a road traffic control or operational/data management environment.
    • Experience in congestion management/traffic management.
    • Read, write, and conversant in English language and one other official language.
    • Ability to work in high-pressure environment and high stress tolerance.
    • Ability to make immediate assessments, decisions, and give instructions on live traffic-related incidents.
    • Strong managerial skills driven to meet and improve Operational Key Performance Indicator requirements.
