OUTLINE OF DUTIES:

  • Carrying out systematic checks on all trucks to avoid breakdowns and diagnose problems on trucks in order to avoid further deterioration.
  • Conducting routine general checkups on the trucks that include preventive maintenance such as, engine tuneups, oil and coolant changes, tyre rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters and brake adjustments and any other necessary checks.
  • Ensuring Trucks are maintained in good condition and are road worthy by repairing faulty parts and replacing them with the correct spares.
  • Responsible for correcting failures and monitoring the function of the trucks.
  • Make sure that all the trucks are worked on in time to contribute to faster turnaround times and function properly to reduce breakdowns.
  • Executes the replacement and work on gear boxes.
  • Conduct mechanical checkups on horse and trailer.
  • Attending to Breakdowns and accidents when called upon at any time.
  • Accurately open and complete Job Cards to ensure that all records of the trucks serviced are completely and correctly filled in and kept for record purposes.
  • Maintaining vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
  • Ensuring the correct use and maintenance and return of Workshop equipment and tools.
  • Responsible for always promoting and maintaining a safe work environment and inspecting equipment for safety compliance and reporting any unsafe equipment, tools or practices.
  • Fully adhering and strictly complying with all HSE Manuals, Guidelines and Memos.
  • Any other duties as delegated by the Workshop Management Team.

Salary:
R20, R25,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Olifantsfontein, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • High School (matric) (required)

Experience:


  • Working with Trucks: 3 years (required)
  • Mechanic: 5 years (required)

Language:


  • English (required)
