    Description

    We are seeking an accomplished Meat Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team at Indian Ocean Export Company in Durban. This role involves purchasing and exporting meat products for international markets.

    As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the strategic procurement of fresh and frozen meat from local and international suppliers.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Purchasing and sourcing high-quality meat products
    • Negotiating prices and payment terms with suppliers
    • Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and developing new partnerships
    • Overseeing the execution of orders and ensuring timely delivery
    • Collaborating with the export department to ensure compliance with South African and international regulations

    Requirements:

    Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity with expertise in purchasing and exporting meat products.

    Familiarity with the meat export process and knowledge of import regulations for meat in South Africa.

    Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Salary: R550,000 - R650,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits package including medical aid, pension fund, and performance bonuses.
