We are actively searching for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our client's team based in Fourways as a CLEARING AND FORWARDING COORDINATOR.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Coordinate the clearance and forwarding of imported and exported goods through customs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.
  • Liaise with customs officials, shipping companies, and other relevant parties to ensure the smooth transit of goods.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for each shipment, including customs clearance forms, invoices, and other related paperwork.
  • Monitor the status of shipments and provide regular updates to clients, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing delays.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the clearance and forwarding process and escalate to management when necessary.
  • Keep abreast of changes in customs regulations and ensure that all procedures and documentation are up to date and compliant with current requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, shipping agencies, and customs authorities to facilitate the efficient processing of shipments.
  • Provide support and guidance to other team members on clearance and forwarding processes and regulations.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:


  • Proven experience in a clearing and forwarding role, with a strong understanding of customs procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of import and export documentation, including customs clearance forms, bills of lading, and commercial invoices.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customs officials, shipping companies, and clients.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to accurately maintain and organize documentation for multiple shipments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and ethical conduct in all clearance and forwarding activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • At least 35 years of experience in a clearing and forwarding role, with a proven track record of successful customs clearance and shipment forwarding.
  • Professional certification in customs brokerage or related areas would be an advantage.

PACKAGE & REMUNERATION:


  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
