Scope of Work

The incumbent will be responsible for conducting underwater inspections, maintenance, and repairs of water infrastructure, such as water treatment facilities, pipelines, reservoirs, and underwater structures.

The diver will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and functionality of water systems, as well as assessing and mitigating environmental impacts related to water resources.

Duties and responsibilities for Commercial Diver:

Perform underwater inspections of water treatment facilities, reservoirs, and other water system components to identify structural issues, leaks, or environmental concerns.
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on underwater infrastructure, including pipelines, valves, and intake/outflow structures.
Install, inspect, and maintain equipment and fixtures used in water treatment processes, such as screens, diffusers, and aerators.
Conduct sediment sampling and monitoring activities to assess water quality and environmental impacts.
Assist in the installation and maintenance of underwater monitoring systems and instruments used for data collection.
Collaborate with environmental scientists and engineers to support research and monitoring projects related to water resources.
Follow established safety protocols and environmental regulations to minimize impacts on aquatic ecosystems during diving operations.
Operate and maintain diving equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications for Commercial Diver:

Diving certification (Possess a valid commercial diving certification from a recognized training institution.)
A copy of a passed diving Medical Examination
Diving first Aid Certificate
34 years of professional diving
Physically fit
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
A portfolio of work available for review

Key Skills:

Mastery in use of diving equipment such as scuba gear, air tanks, helmets, gauges, diving suits, and masks.
Proficient in use of use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to use still and video cameras.
