    Description

    Forwarding and Clearing Compliance Manager

    A strategic leader is sought to manage the Business Unit Functions across operational, HR/IR, and financial disciplines.

    The role entails providing strategic planning, leadership, and coordination of the various operational activities, including monitoring and analyzing operations efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Maintain relationships with Agents, SARS Customs, Service Providers (Internal & External), and clients.
    2. Manage and control the forwarding/receipt of inbound and outbound cargo documentation.
    3. Liaise and negotiate with statutory bodies to ensure effective finalization of the documentation processes.
    4. Manage the C&F team and ensure they are up-to-date on new statutory requirements.
    5. Clearing documentation for road freight.
    6. Management reports.
    7. Drive profitable and consistent commercial retention, new business development, and growth initiatives.
    8. Identify staff development/training needs and ensure high levels of staff motivation and enthusiasm.
    9. Evaluate and improve operational performance.
    10. Ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
    11. Implement reports and tools to rate performance/inefficiencies.
    12. Enhance client satisfaction through cooperation with allied disciplines.
    13. Guarantee effective client communication in all departments within the branch.
    14. Foster a culture of compliance with the Customs Act and SARS Regulations.
    15. Stay informed about changes to legislation and its effects on the organization.

    Requirements:

    1. Matriculation certificate.
    2. Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain.
    3. Minimum 10 years of experience in the Logistics and Supply Chain Industry.
    4. Minimum 5 years of experience in managing a Forward and Clearing Team.
    5. Strong knowledge of Customs Clearing & overall Clearing & Forwarding processes.
    6. Fully computer literate with aptitude for technology and systems-driven solutions.
    7. Experience in Urgent, Express, and Cross Border Road freight.
    8. Competency in MS Office.
    9. Familiarity with EasiClear / CompuClear software.
