    Description

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Key Job Outputs:

    Data Management

    1. Maintaining our data dictionary in conjunction with our data stewards, which includes a reference document containing all available fields together with mappings between different data tables.
    2. Providing necessary insights to our data stewards so that they can improve the quality of our data.
    3. Ensuring that the necessary data is provided in the agreed format to the reporting and analytics teams, and managing any changes in the production data model, including documenting well and maintaining our data lake.
    4. Agreeing with the analytics teams on the necessary data elements.
    5. Maintaining a Data Dictionary and Business Glossary.
    6. This individual will be able to translate the meaning and context to the teams providing reporting and analysis across the business, with particular emphasis on Credit and Sales.
    7. Deep understanding of the Production system mechanics for each of our product flows.
    8. Understanding how Salesforce is implemented.
    9. Knowledge of database objects, fields, and records, including their relationships and how data is created and modified in the system.
    10. Providing detailed information on database changes.
    11. Object, field and records updates.
    12. Object relationships.

    Stakeholder communication and change management

    1. Ensuring that the requirements of the data consumers are clearly understood by the technology teams.
    2. Ensuring that any changes to production data are clearly understood by the data consumers before they are made, and managing the impact of the change well.
    3. Communicating across all departments within the company, especially Credit and Technology Teams – Development, Operations and Delivery.

    Data lake/warehousing management

    1. Understanding how system enhancements, new features and bug fixes will impact the data warehouse.
    2. Implementing new solutions and flows.
    3. Extracting and transforming data from different systems.
    4. Qualifying and scoring data, providing quality and accuracy reports on key data elements.
    5. Monitoring the data warehouse to ensure all data flows are running as scheduled.

    Data Quality Management

    1. Moving data if required for updates on the system.
    2. Updating records with external data.
    3. Providing data stewards with agreed quality metrics on the elements for which they are responsible.
    4. Cleaning bad data when identified or working with the data stewards to do so.

    Data lake maintenance

    1. Agreeing with the analytics teams on the necessary data elements.
    2. Ensuring these elements are consistently updated from production.

    Desired Experience & Qualification

    Qualifications:

    1. Post-matric technology qualification.
    2. 3 - 6 years Data engineering and BI experience, including data extraction, transformation, and loading.

    Experience:

    1. 2 years of data dictionary development and maintenance.

    Package & Remuneration
