The Tax Administrator is responsible in assisting the Tax Department with Tax administration and calculations.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

  • Matric qualification required with English and Mathematics (High grade) as
  • B Com Degree in Accounting, Taxation or Finance.

Experience

  • Experience in Taxation.
  • Experience in Excel, Pastel, XERO, SAGE, Greatsoft, SARS e-filing, Easyfile and
Caseware will be an advantage.


Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in English required.
  • Proficiency in another Official South African language will be an advantage.
  • Basic-intermediate skills required in MS Word, and Outlook.
  • Good understanding and command of Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional administrative skills.
  • Active listening skills.

  • A numbers person passionate about taxation.
  • Work experience with SARS E-filing and Easyfile

JOB SPECIFICATION
The main tasks and responsibilities associated with the position are listed below.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Act as a Tax Administrator

Taxation:
a. Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT 201 RETURNS and TAX RETURNS.

b. Assist with basic payroll and submission of the EMP201 returns.

c. Contacting SARS for follow-ups, making SARS appointments and uploading various documents on e-filing and the SARS portal.

d. Maintain client records on internal software and SARS.

e. Prepare and submit basic various SARS verification documentation after senior review.

f. Attend to collating and submission of updating the Registered Representative at SARS.

g. Sourcing and collating of information from clients.

h. Basic processing of client-provided information/source documentation in Excel.

i. Collation of information and submission of various tax/statutory registrations.

j. Communicate various feedback to the client.


  • Assist the team where needed.
  • Attend to tasks or jobs allocated accurately and timely.
  • Maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions as well as maintain the statutory file.
  • Potentially assist with the submission of annual returns, company amendments and registrations with supporting documentation or information to CIPC.

Measurement of Performance

Taxation:
a. Submit VAT and Tax returns accurately and timeously.

b. Submit relevant supporting documents to SARS timeously.

c. Communicate with SARS in a professional manner.


Client communication:
a. Client is satisfied with the work delivered and the manner in which it is done.

b. Timeous response to clients.

Timesheets:
a. Timesheets are done on a daily and weekly basis.

b. Timesheets are done accurately.

Meet financial accounting objectives and targets.


Act in the capacity of a Representative for FUNDAMALI:

  • Manage relationships with all colleagues and customers, with consideration of company policies and good work ethics.
  • All activities required to fill the role of representing FUNDAMALI.
  • Implement and maintain systems and procedures where necessary.
  • Ensuring quality of work.
  • Meeting deadlines and submitting work timeously.
  • Supporting the FUNDAMALI team and associated clients where necessary.
  • Attend meetings if required and provide reports on work.
  • Attend to any work-related request from the manager or partner as required.
  • Act Ethically.

Pay:
R5 853,80 - R18 888,75 per month

  • Bachelors (required)

Experience:

Tax Administration: 2 years (required)
