A vacancy exists with our client for a Maintenance Manager that is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of the power plant by managing a team of maintenance technicians and other professionals who work together to ensure that the plant is running smoothly and safely.


Qualifications:

Technical Diploma or Mechanical Engineering degree Related Experience:2-4 years' experience in a similar managerial position
5 years minimum experience in maintenance and engineering roles in an industrial/manufacturing environment
Sound knowledge of boilers, steam systems, power generation equipment, stock control and store management
CMMS knowledge.
Sound knowledge of OHS Act


Sound knowledge and Experience in Labour Legislation General Machinery Regulations experience is an advantage.


Contract management. Key Performance Outputs Primarily oversee all mechanical and electrical maintenance systems, processes, practices and people to support the operational departmental actions.


Align with the operations plan to ensure plant optimization and efficiency, maintenance planning and capital spares optimization. To lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.


Responsible for ensuring that the facility operate to its maximum efficiency and output. Responsibilities includes total preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical and electrical equipment.


Responsible for the management of outsourced contracts such as Turbine General Overhaul, Contract Labour management and special projects management


Skills and competencies:

Sound knowledge of boilers, steam systems, power generation equipment, stock control and store management.


CMMS knowledge. Sound knowledge of OHS Act.
Sound knowledge and Experience in Labour Legislation. General Machinery Regulations experience is an advantage.


Knowledge and understanding of power plant operations and associated risks. Knowledge and understanding of SHERQ management systems.


Knowledge and understanding on conducting risk assessments. Good numeric reasoning ability.


Good attention to detail. Organised, efficient and ability to multi-task.


Deadline driven and the ability to work under pressure. Negotiation skills.


Project management principles. Sound knowledge of human behaviour and occupational hygiene.


Communication and presentation skills. Leadership skills.


Facilitation and presentation skills. Procedure and report writing skills.
Computer literacy (e.g. MS Excel, MS word, MS PowerPoint etc.). Auditing skills.
Team player, motivating, coaching and mentoring skills. Excellent legislative knowledge and the ability to implement and manage SHERQ legislation.
Punctual and reactivity to emergency situations. Proactive and anticipation of risk.


Salary:
R85 000,00 - R100 000,00 per month
