Main purpose of the job:


  • The Regional Coordinator shall be responsible for the implementation and assisting in the development of the project

Location:

-
Ugu District, Kwa-Zulu Natal

Key performance areas:


  • Providing technical leadership and design expertise to support gogoPLAY
  • Identifying, recruiting, and managing older women (gogos) and other child carers to run Early Childhood Development facilities
  • Coordination and facilitation of community engagement meetings, visits, and events
  • Provide strategic and technical input to the program's systems
  • Responding to the specified deliverables and goals of the project in line with marking rules, guidelines, and regulations timeously
  • Completing detailed strategy writeups, work plans, monthly reports, and report reviews
  • Overseeing the work of the gogos, consultants, and subcontractors, as required
  • Liaising with and managing partner organizations at the district and local level

Required minimum education and training:

-
A Diploma or Degree in Social Science/Education/Psychology/Strategic Communication or a relevant field of study

Required minimum work experience:

-
3-6 years of experience in implementing and managing education/development programs at the district and community level

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:

  • Working with a high degree of autonomy and independence in line with project goals and objectives
  • Ability to set priorities while multitasking, and meet deadlines independently with mínimal direct supervision
  • Proven ability to work as an effective team member and engage remotely when necessary
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Field experience in developing and implementing ECD projects and programs in South Africa at the district and community level that have been scaled up
  • Experience engaging and working with communities and traditional leaders
  • Experience working in collaboration with the Ministries of Basic Education and Social Development, partners, donors, and NGOs
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Education (ECD) requirements (legal, practical, and curriculum)
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills in English and isiZulu
  • Demonstrates strong technical, programming, and management skills
