The Role


As a MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) at Entersekt, you will be part of a company that provides 24x7 support for mission-critical database systems for Financial Authentication solutions in the market.

You will be responsible for performing daily database administration, database design and troubleshooting, replication and performance tuning tasks for multiple MySQL clusters in production and development.


Responsibilities

Database Management:


  • Design, implement, and maintain MySQL database Clusters.
  • Ensure the availability and performance of databases.
  • Perform regular database capacity planning and ensure proper storage management.
  • Replication between Databases for high availability

Database Security:


  • Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Manage user access and permissions.

Backup And Recovery:


  • Develop and implement backup/recovery strategies.
  • Regularly test and verify backups to ensure data integrity.
  • Plan and execute database recovery procedures in case of failures.

Performance Tuning:


  • Monitor and optimize database performance.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with team to improve query performance.

Database Upgrades And Patching:


  • Plan and execute database upgrades.

Troubleshooting:


  • Diagnose and resolve databaserelated issues.
  • Provide support to development teams in debugging databaserelated problems.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) in a production environment.
  • Deep understanding of MySQL database architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
  • Handson experience with Galera cluster, MySQL or MariaDB.
  • Data migration, backup, restore & recovery, resolving performance issues, blocking and deadlocks.
  • Experience in Implement and Monitor MySQL Cluster to provide High Availability for mission critical events, database mirroring, replication and log shipping.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation tasks.
  • Experience with database security, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git for managing database configurations and scripts.
  • Exposure to the following would be advantageous:
  • Experience with FinTech or financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with other cloud database technologies such as Aurora DB and Global Databases.
