Accounting & Tax Technical Manager - Cape Town, South Africa - Outsourced CFO

Description

We are looking for a technically inclined accountant who will play a crucial role in ensuring tax compliance and maintaining the quality control of financial statements for our clients.

• Client Service_
• Take end ownership of the tax compliance status for our clients
• Take end ownership of the quality control on the statements
• Signs off all independent reviews and overseeing overall quality
• Facilitating and providing technical tax and accounting assistance to both the advisory and cloud accounting departments
• Business Development_
• Scoping and quoting of new assignments on annual deliverables and special projects
• Monitoring budgets and analysing overruns; coming up with solutions for future cost efficiencies
• Sitting in sales meetings to win new clients
• Networking and establishing relationships with relevant external parties
• Participate in weekly Cloud Accounting leadership meetings and prepare accordingly
• Management_
• Planning and team allocations of annual compliance drives for all clients (Income tax returns, PAYE, Financial Statements, COIDA, Independent Reviews, etc) and ensuring that deadlines are met
• Active involvement in the recruitment process which includes the screening of senior team members and panel members and conducting interviews
• Managing the panel member relationships and quality control on panel member engagements
• Quality Control_
• Develop and implement templates for various accounting and tax annual processes
• Ensure that templates are uptodate and reflect best practices and ensure effectiveness
• Provide guidance to team members on the use of templates
• Setting up SOPs and exercising quality control on work of the department as for all annual deliverables
• Conducting quality control reviews on selected files after annual drives and compiling and providing feedback to the teams
• Training identification and facilitation_
• Identifying and facilitating the entire Cloud Accounting Division as well as SAICA, SAIPA and CIMA trainees with training on relevant accounting, tax, professional and other developmental areas

• Chartered Accountant (SA)
• 5 years post articles
• 2 years technical experience
• Management experience (hybrid/remote will be an advantage)
• Advanced excel
• Xero experience
• Caseware and/or Draftworx experience
