HSE Fire Safety Inspector, Contract Position - Morningside, Johannesburg - Job ID 3831


HSE Fire Safety Inspector needed to contribute in all HSE services and execution of HSE business and perform HSE services as per the contract requirements.

The services include HSE audit, Fire Safety Audit, Risk assessment, Construction Safety Audit etc.

The position performs in line with the Company Quality Assurance System, including the Company Code of Ethics and the Group policy.


Advantages:

Be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa, and/or members of the South African Institute of Civil Engineering, and/or members of the Association of Life Safety Assessors and/or a member of The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).

Have additional qualification for In-Service Inspection of Lift/Elevators, Escalators, Moving Walkway & General Regulatory Inspections done in Lift/Elevators, Escalators, Moving Walkway in service.

Job description / core competencies:


Perform in-service inspection of Fire Safety Systems and Fire Fighting / Sprinkler Installations and Generally Regulatory Inspections done in Fire Safety Systems and Fire Fighting / Sprinkler Installations in service.

HSE/Fire Safety Project Execution.

Preparation/Editing of HSE/Fire audit checklist with reference to the client spec/ applicable standard and statutes.


Conducting HSE/Fire Safety/Electrical Safety/Construction Safety audits and other safety audits as directed Industry manager or Inspection Project and Operations Manager.

Testing of the Fire Life safety Systems.

Integration checking of the Fire Life Safety Systems.

Fire Risk Assessment

Preparation of draft and final report.

Preparation of various Safety training module and impetrating training as and when required.

Fire Safety Product Development.

To carry out inspection under the requirements of applicable standards.

Work closely with Operation Manager to ensure business targets are met.

Provide team spirit to other inspectors with contracts to ensure continuity and consistency of the inspection.

Form good working relationships with clients.

Attend client meetings to deliver services according to client requirement and specification.

Able to resolve problems within own work activities, and to always refer to the Company Operational Manager.

Proactively manages own work and resolves conflicting issue to meet deadlines without compromising work quality.

Able to identify routine problem and provide professional advice to management or client.

Demonstrate a willingness to adapt and respond new process or system.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Holds a recognized qualification in the Fire Engineering field (Fire Technology, ECSA.

Sound working knowledge of National Building Regulations SANS & SABS 0287.

Knowledge of international standards such as ASIB rule books, NFPA, BS, etc.

Minimum 5 to 8 years' experience in Regulatory Inspections of Fire Safety Systems and Fire Fighting / Sprinkler Installations.


Advantages - Be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa, and/or members of the South African Institute of Civil Engineering, and/or members of the Association of Life.

Safety Assessors and/or a member of The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).
