POSITION SYNOPSIS:


The purpose of this role is to provides specialist advice and executes transactional accounting services for the areas of Fixed Assets and Projects Accounting; Sundry Accounts Receivable and Intercompany Accounting; Payroll Accounting and Master Data; including relevant period end tasks as defined within the Global Business Services' Partnership Agreement with its Customers.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/ National Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Commerce together with a Minimum 4 years relevant Finance experience.
CA (SA) would be advantageous;

  • Working knowledge of SAP FI module;
  • Microsoft Office suite (*intermediate to advanced Excel, *PowerPoint) experience essential;
  • Minimum 1 year experience in SAP would be essential;
  • Specialist knowledge in Fixed Assets & Projects Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Accounting, Master Data functions and processes;
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, legislative requirements and regulations;
  • Knowledge of internal control environment and regulatory requirements.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Manage general ledger accounting reconciliations within the prescribed timeframe to minimise exceptions;
  • Identify and investigate reconciliation exceptions on relevant general ledger accounts;
  • Monitor and process fixed assets and capital project requests i.e. project creation, budget load, project capitalisation, assets disposal, etc.;
  • Review and maintain the fixed asset registers for a number of entities;
  • Provide advisory service and actively manage relationships with key stakeholders by providing quality information in a timely manner;
  • Liaison with Group Finance Reporting and Analysis and relevant operational functions;
  • Participate in the annual balance sheet review as applicable;
  • Adherence to regulatory and legislative reporting requirements (International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in particular);
  • Ensure alignment with and compliance to internal controls including South32 Code of Business Conduct, Group Level Frameworks, Standards, Policies, agreements, systems, and procedures;
  • Provide assistance with internal and external audits and other governance requirement.
