    **Job Title:** Plant Engineer

    We are seeking an experienced and skilled Plant Engineer to oversee equipment, services, and engineering projects.

    ### Responsibilities:

    • Create effective maintenance strategies to minimize production stoppages.
    • Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering work.
    • Ensure quality through preventative maintenance strategies.
    • Extend machine lifecycles by employing the correct maintenance strategies.
    • Hire, train, and supervise engineering staff members.
    • Oversee all engineering responsibilities for the plant.
    • Propose and manage budgets, approve expenditures, and make purchasing decisions.
    • Translate business objectives into functional capital projects and lead them to completion.
    • Lead research and development initiatives to identify new project opportunities and improved processes.
    • Set targets for engineering, maintenance, and process efficiency.
    • Assist with capital project planning and operational management.
    • Implement current best practices in maintenance and stay up-to-date on legislative requirements.
    • Manage Mechanical and Electrical maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and Planning.
    • Evaluate compliance with governance and safety standards.
    • Manage external contractors and professional services.

    ### Requirements:

    • Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical).
    • Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Factories.
    • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and maintenance management systems.
    • Technical proficiency in design, installation, commissioning, and plant operation.
    • Basic understanding of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM).
    • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles that support equipment operations.
    • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Act No. 85 of 1993 and related standards.
    • Lean management concepts and tools.
    • Understanding of South African Labour Laws and Personnel Management.
    • Sound knowledge of contract management and service provision.
    • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
    • Project management and risk management expertise.
    • Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow control, and reporting capabilities.

    ### Compensation:

    R67,000 + Benefits
