The main purpose of this position is to provide technical leadership and take responsibility for the implementation process of changes and enhancements into production in a controlled manner to ensure a trouble-free go-live, minimising the risk of business process or system interruptions for the company.


JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Contribute to the compilation of divisional operational plans and take responsibility for the implementation as well as the monitoring thereof.
  • Manage and direct the development and maintenance of the release management framework, procedures and standards and manage the implementation thereof, in support of the deployment of quality solutions into the production environment.
  • Take accountability for the final signoff of an information technology (IT) solution, ensuring that it is in line with the predefined quality criteria, prior to deployment to production or live environment.
  • Lead and manage the planning, compilation, and review of the release schedule to deploy solution changes in a structured manner into the live environment to optimise the utilisation of resources, minimise operational risks and ensure alignment with the operational plan.
  • Lead and manage the coordination of all releases (including maintenance of Release Calendar) to ensure alignment with the release schedules.
  • Lead and manage the process maturity of the release and deployment management process to the recommended maturity level.
  • Drive the collection of evidence for all the defined Release Management quality gates and compile release packs for Change Advisory Board.
  • Provide consolidated and integrated reports and analytics for various forums pertaining to the release management process.
  • Manage and maintain a risk register for the area and ensure mitigating actions are implemented within agreed timelines, ensuring compliance with relevant governance frameworks.
  • Manage and implement corrective actions for audit findings as identified by internal and external audit to reduce the company's risk exposure.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- a Bachelor's degree (NQF7) in Information Technology (IT) or an equivalent qualification;
- at least 8 to 10 years' job-related experience; and

  • Serena Dimensions (SDA) knowledge or equivalent.

The following would be an added advantage:

  • ISTQB Foundation Certification;
- test automation skills (using UFT one or Selenium); or
- the automation of APIs and ISO 20022 messages.
