    Purpose of the Job

    The Internal Communications Coordinator: Digital will play a key role in driving communication plans, processes, and deliverables, ensuring messages resonate with and inspire employees. Collaborating closely with the Internal Communications Digital Manager and Specialist as well as the broader team, the role will be responsible for planned content on various digital platforms namely the company app, Intranet, digital screens, SMS, WhatsApp, e-mail, etc. The Coordinator is a tech-savvy, organized, and people-focused individual. They excel at creating impactful digital campaigns, staying updated on industry trends, and providing valuable insights through basic reporting.

    Content Coordination and Creation:

    1. Plan, write, and oversee the publication of the monthly editorial content calendar.

    a. Liaise with stakeholders, identifying trending topics and special days, and managing the content handover process.

    b. Ideate new content ideas to captivate and engage employees, employing creative thinking and strategic engagement tactics to foster motivation and interest.

    2. Strategically plan, execute, and monitor the monthly SMS and in-app notification schedule, ensuring adherence to timelines and actively identifying opportunities or addressing issues as they arise.

    3. Pull app registration and activity statistics, compiling basic reports for stakeholders to provide insights into user engagement and inform decision-making processes.

    4. Actively monitor the app for outdated content, spelling and grammar issues, while also identifying opportunities for feature enhancements to optimize user experience and content relevance.

    5. Monitor the platform's social feed daily and respond timeously to queries where applicable or escalate to People support.

    6. Compile vendor briefs as required for approval by the line manager.

    7. Keep the app image library updated.

    Digital screens:
    Curate and coordinate the production and distribution of digital screen content, managing sourcing, scheduling, and removal.
    Ensure all displayed content is up-to-date and accurate.
    Collaborate with various departments and brands to gather information for compelling content creation.
    Oversee the maintenance and functionality of the channel.
    Continually explore innovative content formats.

    Intranet:
    Maintain and update content on the company's intranet platform.
    Keep company news, countdown calendar and rotating banners updated with current and relevant information.
    Curate existing content and repurpose it for the platform.
    Ensure content such as articles, news, and announcements for the intranet is engaging and informative.
    Coordinate with various departments to gather information and announcements for publication.
    Use multimedia elements such as images, and infographics where relevant to enhance content.
    Monitor metrics and analytics to assess the effectiveness of intranet communications.
    Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the smooth operation and security of the intranet.
    Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines on the intranet.
    Proactively find ways on how to drive traffic when relevant to the intranet.

    Other short form content:
    Curate, optimise and manage the distribution of short-form content to other channels, including WhatsApp and radio retail.

    Administrative Support:
    Assist with research for employee posts, features, publications, newsletters, etc.
    Coordinate and schedule meetings and consolidate and distribute meeting minutes as required.
    Coordinate all facilities requirements for the hosting of campaigns or events as required.
    Archive all communications as required.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to perform tasks and provide support where required.

    Qualifications

    Degree or Diploma in Communications, PR or a related field - (essential).

    Experience

    +2 years' experience creating digital content, and providing administrative support - (essential)
    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint Online – (essential).
    +2 years' experience in a corporate communications environment or similar – (advantageous).
    Experience working in a CMS (content management system) and email management system. (advantageous)
    Experience with analytics or insights software (advantageous)
    Experience in a retail environment – (advantageous).
