    Job Title: Finance Manager

    We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team at a passenger dealer based in Polokwane. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, with a proven track record of success in the motor retail industry.

    Role Overview:

    The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity of the dealership, overseeing all financial operations and preparing detailed financial reports. They will work closely with senior line management to drive growth and profitability, while also ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Financial Planning and Control: Manage financial activities in line with approved policies and procedures, authorise and approve all payments, and ensure compliance with company policies.
    • Accounting and Financial Reporting: Compile management accounts, including budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries; prepare accurate and timeous reporting in respect of key performance metrics and recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
    • Cash Management: Manage cash sales, outstanding debtors, and work-in-progress to ensure collections are up-to-date and all risks are identified and actioned.
    • Inventory Management: Manage the vehicles stock books to ensure accuracy in respect of billing and payment of vehicles and ensure that all documentation is compliant in terms of company policy.
    • Risk Management: Identify opportunities to minimise cost or increase revenue, manage operational risk and risk mitigation initiatives, and ensure effective and efficient administration of operational costs within budget.

    Requirements:

    • Experience: 5+ years' accounting/financial management experience in a similar environment, of which at least 2-3 years' in a team lead/management role.
    • Qualifications: NDip or BCom degree with Accounting or Financial Management NQF6+, recognised Management/Leadership Diploma or Certificate – desired.
    • Skills and Personal Attributes: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, financial accounting knowledge, competent application of accounting fundamentals and principles, sound knowledge and understanding of accounting and tax concepts, financial statements, trial balance, financial recordkeeping process, and books or accounts of the company.

    Personal Qualities:

    • Professionalism: Must be professional, diplomatic, polite, and rational when communicating with multiple levels of people.
    • Interpersonal Competence: Effective at working with people, empathetic when dealing with personnel matters, and able to handle conflict.
    • Time Management: Able to respond to and resolve queries and issues in the minimum amount of time.
