    Job Description:

    To develop and implement industry development strategies that align with our goals for sustainable industrial growth.

    We are seeking a professional to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, to influence sector-specific policies and regulations.

    The ideal candidate will position our organization as a thought leader in sustainable industrial development and identify opportunities within value chains, including linkages, synergies, and adjacencies between sectors.

    In collaboration with our teams, this role will inform industries of the future, enabling them to plan for impact and sustainability.

    A key responsibility will be to define implementation plans to achieve our desired future state, including immediate and emerging priorities.

    This role requires active collaboration across teams to influence thinking and optimize delivery of plans.

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant commercial or technical Honours Degree or equivalent qualification.
    • MBA or Master's degree is advantageous.

    Key Skills:

    • 8-10 years' industry experience, including strategy development and implementation.
    • Sound knowledge of global industries, value chains, markets, technology landscape, regulatory landscape, economic policy, future trends, and emerging industries.
    • Good networks within the industry, both private and public sectors.
    • Experience in coaching and mentoring team members.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the formulation of industry roadmaps and identify short-term, medium-term, and long-term priorities.
    • Develop clear, tangible implementation plans for sector development, consulting with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Compile analytical frameworks for sectors.
    • Provide future industry insights to inform our short-medium term industry development strategies.
    • Monitor and review the developmental trajectory of industries and subsectors, taking corrective measures as required.
    • Lead or participate in industry development Steering Committees/Forums to inform industry development initiatives.
    • Ongoing engagement with operational units to ensure optimal execution of industry development strategies.
    • Identification and management of risks relating to industry development strategies.
    • Provide value-adding input and guidance to Client Support Growth teams and SBUs to contribute to overall industry development goals.
    • Participate in ad-hoc strategic interventions to address challenges/priorities in the sector or IDC.

    Customer Focus & Stakeholder Management:

    • Engage relevant industry stakeholders and represent the IDC in industry forums to influence goals, objectives, activities, and initiatives.
    • Learn from industry stakeholders and create a conducive environment for industry development/growth.
    • Clearly articulate and communicate industry/sector-specific strategies within the IDC and external stakeholder group.
    • Ensure service excellence.

    Learning, Leadership, People Growth:

    • Contribute to the development of competencies and knowledge of industries within the organization.
    • Coaching and mentoring peers.
    • Keep up-to-date with latest industry developments.
    • Participate and lead knowledge sharing in the team and cross-functionally.
