    Operations Manager Job Description

    The Operations Manager plays a crucial role in the success of our production operations, ensuring ISO compliance and effective human resources management.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Planning and Scheduling:
      • Assist the Production Manager with demand forecasting for orders and raw material requisitions.
      • Ensure daily production goals are achieved.
      • Meet weekly with the Production Manager, Quality Control, and Lab Technician to address concerns and ensure smooth operations.
    • Fleet Management Supervision:
      • Monitor dispatch and receiving supervisors to ensure correct usage, adherence to rules and laws, and optimal route planning.
      • Plan and schedule services, addressing unscheduled breakdowns, mechanical failures, and accident damage.
      • Handle vehicle licence renewals and monitor licence validity.
    • Administration:
      • Submit monthly reports on production performance and CAPA report completion to the Business Development Manager.
      • Address stock issues in inventory management software.
      • Perform accurate and transparent stock adjustments as needed.
      • Purchase consumables and diesel.
      • Administer quarterly stock takes and prevent losses.
      • All HR activities, including hearings, CCMA hearings, disciplinary counselling, record-keeping, and performance reviews.
    • ISO 9001:2015 Compliance:
      • Maintain procedures in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
      • Assist the Business Development Manager with ISO 9001:2015 documentation.
      • Maintain traceability in production processes as per ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
      • Create and complete CAPA reports for all complaints and non-conformance incidents.
    • Safety, Health, and Environment Management:
      • Evaluate factory safety certifications with Department of Labour and ISO:45001.
      • Complete CAPA reports for all safety incidents.

      Qualifications

      • Matric Certificate
      • Tertiary Diploma or Degree in Operations Management

      Experience

      • 3+ years' experience in chemical production, analysis, and management environments.

      • Logistics management around production and distribution
