Description
African Mobility Solutions is urgently looking for a supervisor for its manufacturing store. This is a role with a lot of room for growth in a rapidly expanding market segment. Manufacturing mobile facilities, this role falls under the procurement division and will work directly alongside the manufacturing partner.

The role of the supervisor is both to manage the day-to-day tasks in the store and take responsibility for the store and its function.

It is however also a very hands-on role and will require getting involved in the day to day tasks typical of a manufacturing store.

With the outlook to grow the company rapidly, the vision of this role is to lead and train the stores team and be the link to the head of department on store operations and challenges.

AMS is looking for a self-starter that will take the initiative to continuously improve store operations.


Requirements:


  • Technically minded to form understanding of the implementation of products and manufacturing methods.
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills in a processoriented environment.
  • Good end user computing skills needed to understand various software systems implemented.
  • Honest and trustworthy.
  • Process orientated and the ability to see the big picture.
  • Knowledge of the stock control in the production and project environments.
  • Approximately 3 years experience in stock and stores management (required)
  • Experience with Unleashed stock management software will be advantageous.
  • Able to provide a criminal record report not older than 6 months (preferred) with no criminal history.

Duties

  • Learn the components stocked, their function in the end product and the typical phase in which they are required by manufacturing teams in order to provide feedback to procurement, manufacturing and management.
  • Maintain order and structure in the store and ensure the store is neat and tidy, ensuring all stock is correctly packed away.
  • Keep stock accurately and ensure items are booked to the correct project.
  • Receive all orders into the store per the correct receiving procedure. The order is to be checked with the delivery personnel, ensuring that delivered components match the provided Invoice/delivery note, as well as the Purchase Order issued for this order. Any deviations are to be escalated immediately.
  • Ensure the Bill of Materials (BOM) of each project is adhered to and that any changes are only implemented if the necessary BOM change procedure has been followed. Coordinate with the procurement department on components that are out of stock and on back order.
  • Conduct initial picking of BOM items promptly to ensure procurement of outstanding items is accurate and efficient.
  • Ensure procedures are followed in the issuing of stock for adhoc projects (repairs, etc.) and that the necessary approvals have been completed.
  • Lead the stores team and ensure that operations continue to run efficiently. Consult with division manager on necessary changes to procedures, policies and standard practices. Ensure any problems, concerns, hazards, etc. are delt with swiftly and lease with senior management where necessary.
  • Report regularly to department manager to update on operations including the performance of the stores team, stock levels, operational challenges and shortfalls.
  • Manage stock counts in line with the stock count SOP. This includes the monthly cycle counts. Discrepancies between the stock count and the stock levels in Unleashed should be reported to the division manager, who is to sign off on any stock adjustments with finance and executives.

R16, R23,000.00 per month
