  • Here is an exciting opportunity to join our Platinum Business as a Shaft Planner, responsible for integrating appropriate information from all relevant mining disciplines in order to design appropriately feasible mine plans. Mine plans requested from this role are monthly, annually, 5 years (Geology, Survey and Rock Engineering).

**Job Description

  • The focus areas for this role will be to**:
  • Compile short-term plan in accordance with Life of Mine (obtained from the Chief Mine Planner in conjunction with medium term planner) and 5-year plans in conjunction with line management.
  • Deliver input into new mine technical systems design / layouts / structures including capital and ad hoc projects.
  • Take ownership using the MineRP Planner scheduling software on the shaft.
  • Schedule the 1year and monthly plans with input from line management including new layouts and design for project type work (extensions, new block, new ideas) on MineRP Planner
  • Analyse KPIs and highlights potential highrisk areas including the Development / stoping replacement ratios and Ore reserve availability.
  • Put controls in place to ensure Production plans are adhered to.

This role is in the MRM Department at a D1 Level, reporting to the Chief Mine Planner

Qualifications:


  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Mining qualifications that support the preparation of mine plans, such as Survey, Rock Engineering or Mining (essential)

Knowledge, skills and experience:


  • Mining industry background with at least 2 years' experience
  • Bord & Pillar mining experience (advantageous)
  • Planner experience (advantageous)
  • MineRP Planner scheduling software programme skills (essentials)
  • MS Office literate
  • Understanding of the following disciplines: Geology, Survey, Rock Engineering, Ventilation / Evaluation.
  • Business objects reporting skills required
  • Understanding of mine planning procedures, including:
  • Sequences
  • Consequential activities
  • Mining and logistics interdependencies
  • Geology
  • Survey
  • Rock Engineering
  • Financial Skills (NPV's and IRR's) (advantageous)
  • Valid driving license code 0
  • Please note if successful, you will need to undergo a Medical Fitness Test
