DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
but not limited to

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical documents to determine project requirements.
  • Perform layout, cutting, and shaping of metal components using hand and power tools, including shears, saws, and cutting torches.
  • Weld and assemble metal parts and structures using various welding techniques, such as arc welding, MIG welding, and TIG welding.
  • Inspect and test completed work to ensure conformance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and modification of existing boilers, pressure vessels, and related equipment.
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment.
  • Always follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients to coordinate work activities and ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and handling of tools and materials.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing boiler and pressure vessel construction and repair.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Matric
  • Completed Trade / Red Seal

EXPERIENCE:


  • 35 years of postqualification experience.
  • Proven experience as a Boilermaker or similar role in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes and techniques.
  • Familiarity with various types of metals and alloys.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Good physical condition and manual dexterity, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations and protocols.

REMUNERATION / BENEFITS

R R per month (Depending on Experience)
