WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Electronic Technician on site is responsible for all electronic components in the plants such as the PLC, firing cards & master & slave drives of heat treatment, repairs of PLC boards, adjusting of parameters on PLC, repairs on electronic components and preventive maintenance on electronic components.
Backing up PLCs and all electronic equipment.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Review electrical engineering drawings and refer issues requiring changes.
Test and repair electronic systems on all CNC machines e.g., the PLC boards.
Troubleshoot breakdowns of CNC machines; Hydraulic Forging presses; Heat treatment processes.
Repair firing cards, master and slave drives of Heat Treatment Plant
Test, repair of electronic, and instrument components.
Able to troubleshoot PLC issues, also programming ability on PLCs. Siemens S7/ Allen Bradley/ etc.
Run test or fault diagnostics on Electronic/ electrical equipment to locate and address issues, order parts if need be or replace or repair.
Perform preventive maintenance on electronic components in the plant to ensure higher uptime of the machines.
Update software and run test on existing equipmentkeeping records of such tests and upgrades, including backups.
Keep logs and reports that outline tests run, parts used, repairs completed, and troubleshooting steps followed.
Regularly update manuals for electronic equipment and maintain parts inventory lists.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

Minimum Requirements:

N6/S4 Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.
PLC and Controller trouble shooting and programming abilities. Siemens S7 certified.
At least 5 years experience post qualification
Microsoft office (Word, excel, outlook) skills be an advantage.
English language proficiency written and reading.
Have rigorous attention to detail & organizational skill. Backups, log keeping etc.
Strong computer skills & communication skills.
Knowedge of general safety procedures.
Ability to translate and meet maintenance requirements as specified.
Trouble shooting ability.
Strong conceptualization skills
