What will you do?
Assists clients locally and/or overseas with technical information regarding products. Provides technical input and assistance with queries. Provides on-site product support and may be required to carry out basic maintenance on-site. What will make you successful in this role?
Job purpose

As a Product Solution Specialist, you will play a critical role as a problem solver who assists in defining and enhancing Product Tools and Business processes.

Your primary responsibility is to define, design and manage business and system requirements for Glacier advice and product tools, and to provide requirements for IT solutions and follow it through an effective release process.

Key outcomes
The following outcomes will be expected to be achieved by the Product Solutions Specialist:

  • Understanding business needs as they relate to a potential change or transformation
  • Building relationships with all key stakeholders including business owners, product owners, development teams, trainers, and users.
  • Acting as an advisor to the business on best outcomes for a particular business problem or initiative
  • Facilitating of worksessions and solution workshops to gather information, elicit and finalise requirements
  • Identifying, and documenting requirements in an easy understandable way
  • Presenting solutions in the form of walkthroughs to analyst, project managers, architects, development teams, developers, and testers to ensure understanding and assist delivery teams with story estimations and prioritization.
  • Assist in the continuous development, improvement, and implementation of the analysis framework
  • Providing regular feedback to relevant stakeholders
  • Working in an agile team within the scrum framework
  • Performs and/or assists with UAT and live testing for releases.
  • Production support by means of the first entry point from production support, investigating a logged incident, evaluate the urgency and impact of the incident and make recommendations for correction of incident.
  • Sign off on implementation and in conjunction with CPM make calls on 'GO live' or 'No-Go' when risk could impede Distribution operations.
Qualifications and experience

  • BCom, Actuarial Science or Economics degree/diploma
  • Proven +5 years' experience in the Financial Services industry in an analytical and problemsolving role
  • Strong technical inclination and proven understanding of information systems
  • Experience in design and support of webbased, desktop and excel solutions
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong Application Design expertise
  • Computer skills (MS Word & MS PowerPoint & MS Excel)
