As change has swept across the sector in South Africa the socio-economic makeup of agriculture has altered, bringing new entrants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds on to the land, these new farmers, facing the challenges of establishing sustainable agri-businesses across the agricultural value chain, Land Bank has been a commercial lifeline offering appropriately designed financial products that facilitate personal and commercial viability in a sector that is vital to the sustainability of South Africa and its people.


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB**The role is responsible for the provision of IT strategy and technology services to Landbank and its subsidiaries. The role also identifies the Bank's network and technological strategic needs and objectives, provide a reliable up-time network, and ensures the protection of employer scalability. The role further oversees the people, processes, and technology within a Landbank's IT organization to ensure they deliver outcomes that support the business strategy and objectives.


Key Performance Areas:


1. IT Strategic Execution and Solutions Delivery

  • Develop and implement Enterprise Architecture Blueprint for the Bank's future technology implementations & rollouts.
  • Review and update the business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Design and monitor the digital workforce capabilities.
  • Assess strategic key areas for cloud migration key technology systems for the bank.
  • IT delivery on key new business lines, partnerships and to enable growth in existing business is essential to results.
  • Support business and provide for Bank scalability.
  • Directly impacts business results through cost and delivery against strategic IT objectives.

2. Compliance, Governance and Reporting

  • Participate as an invitee to various governance structures.
  • Keep abreast of industryrelated regulatory requirements.
  • Support and respond to queries raised by internal and external auditors on IT matters and ensure that audit findings are dealt with.
  • Ensure that all SLA's and other IT agreements are in compliance with policies of the bank including PFMA processes.
  • Formulate policies and procedures regarding IT areas that require governance.
  • Implement and monitor formulated policies and procedures.
  • Quarterly reporting governance Committees of the Landbank Board
  • Formulate and Chair the Landbank the IT Steering Committee

3. Stakeholder & Suppliers Management

  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plan for all relevant stakeholder of IT in the bank.
  • Educate stakeholders on the role of IT in the business requirements.
  • Manage IT service level agreements for IT Suppliers and 3rd Parties in the Bank.

4. IT Operations Delivery

  • Set and manage SLA's, SMART objectives, and strategies for the IT department.
  • Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits.
  • Effective management of all information and technology assets
  • Develop and maintain accurate IT asset register.
  • Develop, manages and reports on key IT metrics to the CEO and other executive/ management committees.
  • Monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness and effect changes required for improvement.
  • Maintain and Support Business Intelligence capability and service the business with appropriate management reporting solutions.

5. Cyber Security Management

  • Develop and implement the cyber security strategy and associated policies on behalf of the Bank to ensure an effective and uptodate approach towards cyber security threats.
  • Ensure firewalls and other security measures are in place and always up to date.
  • Lead the planning and execution of ongoing security testing & vulnerability assessment.
  • Ensure that all public facing systems are secured through a form of network demilitarisation.

6. People Management

  • Participate in the selection and appointment of new team members.
  • Conduct regular meetings and promote open and ongoing communication with the team.
  • Provide direct reports with opportunities for growth and development through onthejob.
  • Coach and train team members to perform optimally in their roles.
  • Create and maintain a professional culture within the team, where employees take ownership and deliver excellence and quality.
