The Group's four business clusters (Sanlam Life and Savings, Sanlam Investment Group, Sanlam Emerging Markets and Santam) house the Group's business operations.

The Group Office provides strategic direction and support to the four clusters, assisting them in realising their strategies and meeting their business objectives.

The Group Office is responsible for governance and for the Group's centralised functions, which include:
Finance, Actuarial and Risk Management, Strategy, Human Resources, Market Development and Brand Services.
What will you do?

The incumbent is expected to provide insightful reports, analytics and planning recommendations from various data sources, and enable the Senior HCstakeholders in making data driven decisions and insights around the people strategy and outputs.

We are looking for an individual with experience in using a variety of data tools, analysis methods and machine learning algorithms to build and implement predictive models with demonstrable business impact.

What will make you successful in this role?
Explore data sources, implements data exploration, pre-processing and data cleansing on the historical data.
Understand data and evaluate data quality from both data science and business value perspectives.
Prepare the data for future models.
Develop statistical / machine learning models based on the pre-processed data as a proof-of-concept.
Proactive, innovative and timeous delivery of data insights and reports in line with the people strategic focus areas

Provision of equitable and appropriate balance of detailed and high-level data insights as required, to enable the right conversations with differentstakeholders.

Translate data and trends into stories to drive business decisions
Where applicable, building and automation of reporting dashboards, which are simplified and easy to use.
Audit data integrity, investigate concerns, and establish processes to streamline and improve data quality.
Agility and flexibility in delivering between planned and spontaneous reports.
Proactive analyses of data to identify trends and patterns that impede employee experience.
Partner cross functionally to help design and build out Human Capital analytics data warehouse.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field of study and 5 years of experience required.


Experience must involve 2 years in the following: ML and data science knowledge to define the next key features for the solution; build features architected for speed and distributed computing; Research, prototyping and development in the big data, machine learning and data science domain and machine-learning frameworks.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SuccessFactors embedded reporting, advanced analytics and planning.
